What does a session look like?

Your MiJo Photography experience is NOT: formal, stiff, posey (I think I just made that word up), or boring.   It IS however: fun, laid back, silly, natural, and a plain old good time!

Your custom photography experience is more than just sitting in front of a camera for an hour saying "cheese" (in fact, the word "cheese" is strictly prohibited from being used at our photo session!).  It is a natural flowing experience allowing you to simply be you.  I'm just there as an observer capturing it.  It's a lighthearted and fun experience.  I promise!  My goal is to capture the most authentic expressions and interactions.  Whether you are a high school senior, a rambunctious 4 year old, or a 40 something mom or dad...I will strive to capture images that reveal the real you.  My goal for every session is to create art for your home and for loved ones that can be treasured for years to come.  I want you to LOVE your images!  I put a lot of thought and preparation into each of my sessions bringing along unique ideas to help capture memorable moments.  Custom photography is an investment.  An investment that I hope brings smiles to my client's faces for years to come.

I generally book 3-4 weeks in advance.  Upon booking and paying a deposit to hold your date, we will begin to consult about your session and what to expect.  We can meet either in person, over the phone, or simply through e-mail. We will discuss your expectations, locations, outfits, props, and anything else that needs clarification.

Sessions are held at a location that we discuss and agree upon.  Sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes for my Basic Session or 60-80 minutes for my Full Session.  All high school senior sessions are 60 minutes. The sessions are very relaxed and casual.  I promise you will have fun! Even the dads end up having a nice time...and let's face it, that's hard to do!  Once I get down on the ground with the little ones and start making all kinds of goofy faces and sounds...even the most apprehensive kids will open up and smile without a lot of prompting.  Sometimes, I even have the parents walk away, take a break, and let me do all the work getting the smiles out of the kids!  I am quick and can capture those quick, authentic bursts of joy and laughter!

Take a look through my gallery and if my style fits yours, please give me a call or contact me. Through the whole process, I will inform and guide you the entire way.  I want your experience to be a special one.

I look forward to hearing from you!  Thank you for your interest in MiJo Photography.
